Most Finns know Köyliö as the
place where Finnish written
history begins. The first event
in Finland that was recorded
took place here, on the ice of
Lake Köyliönjärvi, when a
Finnish yeoman, Lalli, killed
Bishop Henry, the first bishop
of Finland, in 1156.
Today Köyliö has more to be
proud of than just the first
celebrities in Finland. Köyliö
has lively villages and offers
plenty of culture in various
forms. Agriculture in Köyliö is
also very versatile.
Köyliö is surrounded by
beautiful countryside. Lake
Köyliönjärvi and its
surroundings are listed as one
of the 27 Finnish national
landscapes that best represent
the natural and cultural
features of Finnish natural
environment.
You are most welcome to Köyliö.
We hope you enjoy your stay!
